Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

INTIES is operated by INTIES LTD ("INTIES", "we", "us" or "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17433193. Our registered office is 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. INTIES LTD is the controller of the personal data described in this notice.

For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email support@intiesltd.com.

2. Scope

This notice covers the INTIES website, early-access list, mobile dating application, identity and age verification, matching and messaging, date and venue features, purchases, safety tools, support, moderation and related administration. Separate INTIES LTD products, including Drunk Pigeons, may publish their own notices.

3. Information we collect

  • Account and profile: email address, optional phone number, password/authentication records, date of birth and age, name or display name, city, photographs, profile text, preferences and settings.
  • Identity and age verification: identity-document images and details, selfie images or video, liveness results, facial comparison data, verification status, timestamps and fraud or risk signals.
  • Activity and communications: swipes, matches, messages, voice notes, GIFs, delivery/read states, reports, blocks, appeals and support correspondence.
  • Safety and meeting tools: nominated-contact details, meeting plans and check-ins, safe-word alerts, safety responses and precise location only when you actively choose to share it.
  • Purchases and venues: product, subscription, payment and booking references, amounts, status and venue-referral records. Payment providers process full card details; INTIES does not receive or store your complete card number.
  • Technical and security: IP address, device and app information, authentication events, diagnostic records, abuse-prevention signals and consent records.
  • Website and early access: email address, age confirmation, confirmation status, optional marketing choice, unsubscribe status and minimal security records.

4. Sensitive information

Some optional profile details and dating preferences may reveal sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origin or other sensitive information. Where UK data-protection law requires it, we ask for explicit consent for the relevant optional use. You can withdraw that consent through the app's privacy controls without losing ordinary account access.

Identity verification may involve biometric data created from a selfie or liveness check for the purpose of confirming identity and age and preventing impersonation or fraud. We explain the verification step before collection and rely on the lawful basis and special-category condition applicable to the deployed process, including explicit consent where required.

5. Why we use information and our lawful bases

  • To create and operate accounts, provide matching, messaging, purchases and requested services: performance of our contract with you.
  • To verify identity and age, deter fake accounts, protect members, secure the service, investigate abuse and defend legal claims: contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations and, for relevant sensitive or biometric processing, explicit consent or another applicable condition.
  • To provide optional sensitive-profile, precise-location and marketing features: consent, which you can withdraw.
  • To keep accounting records, answer lawful authority requests and comply with specific legal duties: legal obligation.
  • To respond to support requests, improve reliability and administer venue relationships: contract or our legitimate interests in operating and improving INTIES.

6. Identity verification and Sumsub

When identity verification is enabled, INTIES uses Sumsub to conduct document checks, selfie/liveness checks, facial comparison, age verification and fraud prevention. Information submitted in that flow is sent directly to Sumsub and processed to return a verification result and supporting risk information to INTIES. INTIES uses the outcome to decide whether an account can receive or retain verified status and to protect the platform.

Sumsub may process identity-document data, photographs, video or liveness information, facial biometric data, device/network information and verification results. Its service-delivery privacy information is available through the Sumsub Privacy Hub. Verification does not guarantee that another member is safe, and INTIES does not use verification data for advertising.

7. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal data and the INTIES dating service is ad-free. We share only what is necessary with:

  • Sumsub for identity, age, liveness and fraud checks when verification is enabled.
  • Our hosting, database, storage, security and email providers, including Resend for service emails.
  • Apple and Google for app distribution, store purchases and platform security; Stripe where direct payments are offered.
  • Participating venues where necessary for a booking, referral, settlement or complaint.
  • A nominated contact only when you activate a safety feature or sharing action involving that person.
  • Professional advisers, insurers, courts, regulators and law-enforcement bodies where necessary or legally required.
  • A buyer or successor if the business is reorganised or transferred, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards.

8. International transfers

Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK law treats this as a restricted transfer, we use an applicable adequacy regulation or appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum to standard contractual clauses, together with any required risk assessment. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.

9. Retention and deletion

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose collected, our legal duties, security and dispute handling. Our normal rules include:

  • Account, profile, ordinary matching and conversation data: while the account is active, then ordinarily removed from active systems within 30 days of verified account closure unless a specific lawful hold applies.
  • Raw identity and selfie material held by INTIES: normally no more than 30 days after a final decision or abandoned attempt. Sumsub may retain verification material for the period configured under our service arrangements or otherwise required by law, as described in its applicable notice.
  • Minimal verification outcome: while needed for the account and normally up to 30 days after closure, unless required for fraud prevention, a dispute or a legal obligation.
  • Routine precise-location updates: normally removed within 72 hours; meeting links expire or can be revoked sooner.
  • Routine operational logs: normally up to 90 days. Relevant security or privileged-action records may be retained for up to 12 months or longer under a documented incident or legal hold.
  • Support and ordinary safety cases: normally up to 12 months after resolution or closure. Substantiated serious cases may be retained for up to three years with periodic review.
  • Accounting records: normally six years from the end of the relevant company financial year.
  • Early-access and marketing data: until you unsubscribe or the purpose ends; inactive records are reviewed after 24 months. A minimal suppression record may remain so we respect your opt-out.
  • Protected backups: normally expire within 90 days of active-system erasure and are unavailable for ordinary use.

Deleting the app does not delete your account. Use the in-app account-deletion control when available or email support@intiesltd.com.

10. Your choices and rights

Under UK data-protection law, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal data, restrict processing, receive applicable data in a portable format, object to legitimate-interest processing or direct marketing, withdraw consent and ask for human review of a significant automated decision. We normally respond within one calendar month and explain any lawful extension or restriction.

To exercise a right, email support@intiesltd.com. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity before acting.

11. Security

We use proportionate technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls, protected secrets, encryption in transit, security logging, rate limiting and restricted administrative access. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a unique password and tell us promptly if you believe your account or information has been compromised.

12. Adults only

INTIES is only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly permit children to create accounts. If you believe a person under 18 is using INTIES, report it through the app or contact support so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

13. Cookies, device storage and marketing

We use necessary cookies or device storage for authentication, security, language, appearance and requested functionality. Optional analytics or marketing technologies will not be activated where consent is required unless you choose them. Marketing consent is separate from joining early access, and every marketing message provides an unsubscribe route.

14. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when INTIES, our suppliers or the law changes. We will change the date above and bring material changes to your attention where appropriate. An update will not retrospectively authorise a materially different use where fresh consent is required.

15. Contact and complaints

Email support@intiesltd.com or write to INTIES LTD, 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You do not have to contact us before making a complaint, although we would appreciate the opportunity to resolve your concern.
